Alaskan
Road Trip

10 Nights fishing and touring the Kenai Peninsula during the peak time of the Salmon run in the most iconic fishing destination in Alaska.

Fly Fish the Mighty Kenai

July - August 2025

We begin the journey in the coastal city of Anchorage where we will prepare for the weeks trip down the Kenai Peninsula. This is the first stop where you will stock up on food, beer and Bear spray, making sure you have enough fishing gear to see you through the long days of Salmon fishing.

From here we meander through the spectacular scenery towards the western Kenai town of Seward. The sleepy town of Seward is the perfect place to do a deep sea boat tour to catch Halibut, Salmon and Rock fish, stocking the fridges with some of the best fish in the world! We head out of Seward to the center of the Peninsula to the confluence of the Kenai River and the Russian River, staying in beautiful State Forest camp sites within ear shot of the river and the patrolling Bears. From the Russian river the scenery changes dramatically as we head to the western coastline of the peninsula, to the town of Ninilchik, famous for big King and Coho Salmon runs. By this stage of the trip you will be comfortable with the Bears and techniques and can relax into the Alaskan way of life, fishing into the night with the sun high over your heads.

We make our way back to Anchorage through the quaint village of Hope, with one of the most festive bars in Alaska! Walking off the river with a fish in hand and grabbing a cold beer is a feeling not easily beaten.

Touring in RV’s through the epicenter of the Salmon hub of Alaska is a truly unforgettable and immersive experience. Mixing with the locals, fishing with the wildlife and seeing the splendor of the Alaskan wilderness is a true bucket list adventure!
